i love tiny things. here is one of my most recent favorites... a tiny announcement, 4 inches square. we decided on a double envelope, the outer is kraft, the inner is cotton, with a sweet linen twine knot closure.
inside, is a lovely simple square announcement. hand lettered calligraphy paired with typed italics and softly rounded corners.
i have been meaning to post these photos for some time... i am so thrilled and honored to have contributed my paper designs to this project of such mega talented proportions. first, i designed paper pieces for the welcome box. each box had a small square booklet with the activities for the week. i stitched each booklet spine with silver thread to hold the pages together. a wide belly band was letterpress printed in olive green with my mexican inspired hand drawings. the belly band was wrapped around each hand made box. oh the details... a little round window was cut from each belly band to reveal the hand written name of each guest. the belly bands were sewn at the corner seams with silver thread to secure.
for the invitations... in tones of agave and soft gray green with pops of silver. agave lettering, hand embossing and sterling silver leaf details on each piece. the invitations were presented in vintage celadon silk pouches with agave envelope. the whole suite was then insetred into a larger mailing envelope with hand embossed and silvered belly band address application.
the programs were simply coordinated with hand embossed and silvered leaves and spine. simply written in tones of agave.
the menus for the place setting had a simple hand embossed and silvered dotted border with agave text. i love how they mirror the border on the plates and chargers.
little details for a gorgeous tequila bar... hand written tags with silvered hole reinforcements.
and the sweetest detail... a burro to carry the wedding packages.
a fun little save the date and holiday card rolled into one. the calligraphy was done (by me) in white, clean and crisp. and paired with my favorite stamp of all time... the reproduction inverted jenny. (nice work, post office)
using the mini books we saw on minted for an idea, i sized ours down and added some bespoke elements. each of our save the dates was letterpress printed in two colors on soft cotton paper...
a pretty charcoal gray with pops of cheery persimmon. a simple modern styled border was hand drawn for the front cover to frame a little photo.each of the photographs was printed on lustre photo paper and adhered to the cotton letterpress paper adding lovely layered detail.
the pages of each booklet were hand sewn together with silver thread in a simple zig zag.
then, to top it all off, we added tiny silver jingle bells to each of the silver threads on the top.
